What is Atheism?
In philosophy of religion, atheism is commonly understood to be the view that God does not exist. Atheism has also been construed more broadly as the rejection of belief that any deities exist. In the broadest sense, atheism is the absence of
belief in the existence of deities. Atheism is contrasted with theism, which, in its most general form, is the belief that at least one deity exists.

IrCQNet (irc.icq.com) closed down on December 1, 2015 per the notice originally posted at http://icq.com/icqchat. As you know, the former IRCOps of ICQ started their network in anticipation of this closure, after abandoning ICQ which caused the admins to drop the idea of sustaining it. The former (IRCops) formed their own network with the intention of letting this happen and to capitalize on it by stealing the users of ICQ away to their ill-bred network, to play gods, and monetise it too. I strongly suggest against giving in to that. As ICQ dies, it marks the end of something (no matter what it is, friendship/love/casual fun/hatred/trolling/wasting time) we shared in the channel #atheism. Some of you probably wish to sustain it while others might be of the idea it’s time to move on from all this silliness. If you do prefer to keep in touch. I suggest you join the #atheism channel on irc.AlphaChat.net network. This is a well established network, with updated services and considerate/knowledgeable operators. Who are actively involved in the open source development of the software used to operate the network. Unlike ICQ which had utterly broken/outdated services and less than knowledgeable operators – not all, but many.
